It was a warm Spring day. Typical bird chirps could be heard from above. The breeze sifted through the tree’s causing them to gently rustle. It was a peaceful day to say the least; a perfect time to take a nap. Says the all great and awesome Hero.
The Allies had wanted to take a break from spying on the Axis who- last time they checked- were taking a nap on the beach. Alfred thought that if they can take a nap, then so can the Allies!
And that was it. Alfred took off his glasses and his jacket then laid on the grass and fell asleep. After a bit of quarrelling on where to sleep, Francis and Arthur had soon fallen asleep.
That left Ivan and Yao sitting on the grass wide awake. Neither were sleepy and both thought taking a nap because the Axis were taking a nap was a stupid idea.
Yao looked up towards the sky, exhaling silently. Ivan turned his head and looked at the small man.
“What are you thinking about, Yao?”
Yao chuckled “Nothing, Ivan. Just thinking about how nice it is today.”
Ivan smiled and looked up at the sky as well. He raised his hand up and pointed to a cloud “That one looks like an elephant.”
Yao tilted his head “Are you sure? Looks more like a lion.” The two pointed out what each cloud resembled in their imagination. The two ended up laying on the grass for a more comfortable way to look up at the sky. The sun was almost directly overhead of the couple. It’s brightness had forced Yao to close his eyes.
A comfortable silence had fallen upon the two. Save a bit of snoring from Alfred. Ivan turned his head and smiled softly.
His little Yao had fallen asleep. He could tell from the calm breathing and signs of worry had disappeared from his youthful looking face. Ivan turned on his side and propped his hand up and rested his head; watching Yao as he slept.
Ivan’s shift in position had caused his scarf to tighten around his neck and was being tugged uncomfortably. He had moved his other arm and pulled his scarf from under his body and let it rest on top of the grass.
The wind had picked up suddenly, resulting in Yao shivering from the sudden change of weather. Yao stirred in search for a blanket but had grabbed Ivan’s scarf instead and wrapped it around his neck.
Ivan continued to smile at Yao’s cute little action. He moved closer to Yao but did not wrap his arms around him; no matter how much he’d want too. Ivan closed his eyes and curled into a loose fetal position.
Yao, still cold from the wind, stirred once more. He rolled to the nearest possible source of warm and wrapped his arms around it. Ivan opened his eyes in surprise to find Yao had wrapped his arms around the larger man’s waist. He did not mind of course, but seeing this side of Yao was rare and the last time Ivan had seen it was when he was a child in the Golden Horde’s house. Ivan returned the gesture and wrapped his own arms around Yao and closed his eyes so he can nap along with the others. Yao had relaxed again, sighing in comfort as he continue to nap.
